Beginning the annual ebb
Ten begins to fade
And eleven creeps nearer
Promising future gifts
Of joy, fun, laughter
And the occasional surprise.
Yes...
Looking to eleven
Saying farewell to ten
Is like saying good-by to an old friend
While ready to embrace change
And the ever evolving adventure of life.

Hah 2011 not too far away. Only 3 more paydays until Christmas and I'm beginning to panic.
ReplyDeleteA well wrought piece of work.
ReplyDeleteTime doesn't wait for us. We have to use it and move with it. Your poem reflects this well.
ReplyDeleteEleven is almost here! Nice piece, Janice.
ReplyDeleteI long for new adventure - moving forward to eleven intrigues. Nicely put. Nothing stagnent about life lived with purpose.
ReplyDeleteClean, cogent, creative...
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorites this week!
ReplyDeleteAhh..almost 11. Like when I turned 11 or I watched my boys turn 11. There is a passing, isn't there? Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOh, yes! Always the promise!
ReplyDelete10 has been good to us, but 11 will be even better, my friend : ) Here's wishing you a happy weekend!
ReplyDeletehappy to see that you will be baking the cookies...just keep working the dough with the spoon till it comes together and then just roll into a log and chill. they really are good. the secret is not to overmix the dough. ...then slice with a serrated knife carefully.
ReplyDeleteif you have any questions or hit a snag send me an email at : myfarmhousekitchen@yahoo.com
