So Solo

The lonely watering can
Forgotten
But waiting to be remembered
Finally gave up
And welcomed the rusty joy
Of  well-earned solitude and peace.

  1. Ah but it's not alone. It has the loving through fickle wisteria to keep it company. It's move on to the later stages of life. A comfortable retirement. Next thing you know it's going to want to play golf several times a week, in bright plaid knickers no less.

  10. I like it - like welcoming the inevitable, but not in a way of giving up. Why fight it? Peace has never yet been found in resistance.

  12. This one resonated. Though I too enjoy retirement like that old can, this old can would like to be remembered every now and then too.
